Announcement by the National Independent Authority for Elections on the appointment of representatives of candidate lists to attend voting and counting operations for the election of members of the People’s National Assembly on 2 July 2026

Announcement regarding the appointment of representatives of candidate lists to attend voting and vote-counting operations for the election of members of the People’s National Assembly on 2 July 2026.

By Presidential Decree No. 26-145 of 16 Shawwal 1447, corresponding to 4 April 2026, the period for receiving notifications of the list of candidates for the National People’s Assembly election on Thursday, 2 July 2026, has begun, and in accordance with Order No. 144 of 21 Muharram 1442, corresponding to 10 March 2021, the implementing regulations relating to the electoral system, amendment, and completion, the National Independent Authority for Elections reminds all approved candidates’ lists that they are entitled to have representatives present at all polling operations and to cast votes in all polling stations.

Before 21 June 2026, the list of authorized persons must be submitted to:

1. The official of the counting process and ballot sorting.

2. A certified copy from the list leader.

3. A certified copy from the local commissioner for local elections and the independent authority at the municipal or departmental level.

4. A certified copy from the local commissioner for the approved candidates’ list, from the primary vote-counting center before the two selected ad hoc committees and the polling committee for the candidates abroad.
