MARRIAGES

The marriage in the United States of an Algerian National can be registered at the Consulate General. A family book is issued after the registration free of charge.
All applications can be filed in person or by mail.
Applications sent by mail should be accompanied by a Priority Mail return envelope from USPS for a faster and safer return.

AN ALGERIAN COUPLE

Make sure, the first and last names shown on the marriage certificate are the same on the Algerian Civil Status register.

Descriptive Form completed and signed.
Original American marriage certificate (will be returned after verification and certification).
A copy of the applicant's proof of Algerian nationality and identity (Passport, National ID, Consular card or Military card)
Original birth certificates of both spouses, issued within the last three months. These documents will be returned after verification and certification.

NON-ALGERIAN HUSBAND

Make sure, the first and last names shown on the marriage certificate are the same on the Algerian Civil Status register.

Descriptive Form completed and signed.
Original American marriage certificate (will be returned after verification and certification).
A copy of the wife’s proof of Algerian nationality and identity (Passport, National ID, Consular card or Military card).
Original birth certificates for both spouses. The Algerian national’s certificate must be issued within the last three months. Documents will be returned after verification and certification.
If the husband is non-muslim born, provide a certificate of conversion to Islam issued by a mosque or an agreed association.

NON-ALGERIAN WIFE:

Make sure, the first and last names shown on the marriage certificate are the same on the Algerian Civil Status register.

A copy of the Husband’s proof of Algerian nationality and identity (Passport, National ID, Consular card or Military card)
Original birth certificates for both spouses. The Algerian national’s certificate must be issued within the last three months. Documents will be returned after verification and certification.
