FIRST TIME REGISTRATION
CONDITIONS
- Algerian citizens residing permanently overseas who are 19 or older should complete their consular registration to get passports and Id’s.
- Algerian Married women can be registered under their husband's file and Children under 19 are registered with their parents.
- Upon registration, a consular card is issued free of charge with a 5-year validity.
- All related documents can be submitted in person or by mail directly to the Consulate General of Algeria in San Francisco, 465 California St., Suite 900, CA 94104.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Application form completed and signed.
- Two (2) recent passport photos 2x2 inches (51x51 mm) in size.
- Original full-size birth certificate (E.C 12, Copie integrale) if born in Algeria, or any birth certificate if born abroad.
- One parent's birth certificate or certificate of Algerian nationality (does not apply if the parent(s) hold a consular card). If born overseas, include a certificate of Algerian nationality or the birth certificates of two (2) male ascendants born in Algeria (does not apply if the parent(s) hold a consular card).
- Copy of the photo page of your Algerian passport (if available).
- Copy of US entry visa;
- Copy of your US passport, Naturalization certificate, green card, nonimmigrant visa and/or document issued by USCIS showing your legal stay in the US.
- Copy of the Algerian marriage certificate, family book, divorce certificate or decree or spouse's death certificate (if applicable).
- Proof of employment, self-employment, or school enrollment (alternatives accepted).
- Proof of U.S. address (utility bill, lease agreement, etc.);
- Self-addressed stamped envelope;
