CERTIFICAT OF CHANGE OF RESIDENCE (CCR)

• The CCR is for Algerian citizens who lived permanently abroad for more than three (03) consecutive years who are planning to return to Algeria, to take back their personal belongings, including one new vehicle or that is less than 5 years old, in exemption of customs duties and foreign trade procedures.
• Applicants should be registered and have resided abroad for the last three (03) years, without interruption and have spent less than six (06) months per year in Algeria.
• Personal belongings include the whole family’s personal effects (clothing, books, toys, electronic devices, tools…), furniture (bedrooms, mattresses, sofa beds, kitchen appliances, entertainment devices …).
• The vehicle must be new, under the applicant's name, and brought to Algeria within one year from the date of manufacture.
• The CCR is granted once in a lifetime to the head of the family. It is valid for six (06) months from the date of issuance.
• The total value of the personal belongings and the vehicle must not exceed 8.000.000 DA for students and trainees, and 10.000.000 DA for others.
• Applicable exchange rates are reported from the Bank of Algeria;
• Customs clearance procedures for CCR can only be handled by the applicants themselves. Power of Attorneys (Procuration) are not accepted.
• Once a CCR is issued, your consular registration will be canceled, and you must wait six (06) months to submit a new registration file.

• Paid by USPS Money order (to be provided later once the application is approved and the amount calculated.
• $50 + 7.5$ + 400 DA every 10,000 DA declared (50% discount for students).

Applications can be submitted in person or by mail

• CCR Form completed and signed by the applicant.
• Inventory Form of personal belongings.
• Original consular registration card.
• Copy of all Algerian passport pages.
• Copy of proof of US residency (US passport, Green Card, or appropriate visa).
• Original and a copy of the vehicle registration documents, issued in the name of the applicant.
• Original and a copy of the Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO).
• Original and a copy of the vehicle invoice.
• Proof of employment, school enrollment or internship certificate covering the last three years.
• Proof of U.S. address (utility bill, lease agreement, etc.).
• Applications sent by mail should be accompanied by a Priority Mail return envelope from USPS for a faster and safer return.
