Annoucement - Legislative Elections – July 2, 2026

Dear compatriots,

The Consulate General of Algeria in San Francisco has the honor of informing you that the Algerian legislative elections will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026. On this occasion, you are called upon to elect your representatives to the People's National Assembly (APN).

This election holds particular significance for our community established on the American continent. For the first time, North America and Latin America form a fully independent electoral constituency (zone 5) with two dedicated seats in the APN. Until now, our nationals on the American continent were grouped together with part of Europe within the same zone (zone 4). This new electoral delimitation, enshrined in Executive Decree No. 26-165 of May 3, 2026, is a clear recognition by our authorities of the weight and role of our community on this continent.

Voting is the exercise of a constitutional right and the fulfillment of a civic duty.

Voting operations will take place from June 27 to July 2, 2026. Information regarding polling station addresses will be communicated at a later date.

In this regard, voters registered on the electoral list who do not hold a voter card, are invited to contact us at the following email address election@cgalgeriasf.org in order to obtain one and provide their updated address.
